DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

The world’s premier lifestyle and entertainment destination has shaped up in the heart of the prestigious Downtown Burj DubaI. Dubai Mall, one of the largest malls in the world, is the premier lifestyle destination for shopping and entertainment. It is a shopper’s paradise featuring 1,200 retail outlets, two anchor department stores, a 220-store Gold Souk and more than 150 food and beverage outlets - all masterfully spread over an astonishing area totaling 12.1 million sqft.

The Gold Souk traverses from north to south and shows how the gold vendors trade precious metals and jewelry in the golden era and how it all changed to modern times which one can see as he traverses through the Gold Souk. It is a unique blend of old and new artistically done by our specialized Theming Division. Al Ahmadiah Theming Division consists of specialized, highly organized and skilled artists, architects, mural painters as well as theming designers who executed the work to superior quality special painting to achieve an artistic flavour of old with new. It is a highly specialized job involving intensive coordination and we employed a diverse workforce of several nationalities viz., French, Italian, Iranian, Arab, Indian, Moroccan, Syrian, etc. to achieve the best results. The whole structure is topped by a 540 foot (50 metre) high dome located in the epicenter of the souk. The dome is detailed in the grandeur of historical craft tradition and aimed to provide a major attraction in the heart of The Dubai Mall. The “Art and Antique” corner is located in close proximity of the Gold Souk and features souk style shops selling Arabic souvenirs and traditional artifacts.
